Arrrgh! It’s the nearly the middle of the year and I haven’t updated my website for ages. Have a very, very good reason – I’ve been moving… to the other side of the world. Yup, I’m typing this from Sydney Australia where I’ve got myself a great job. I was looking for a job in England and then this one came up and I had to take it because it’s a magazine I really wanted to work on. And it’s in Sydney. I’m literally doing a Ceri from The Cupid Effect except I’m not teaching. But I am looking for a place to live and going into work everyday a bit overwhelmed. Let’s see if I do all the other stuff that Ceri did as well.
So, here I am, in Sydney. IN ANOTHER COUNTRY!! Very strange I can tell you. But, once I’m settled I’ll be updating the site, I promise. Oh, I have to finish the rewrite of My Best Friend’s Girl pretty darn soon as well. It’s hard cutting things out of a story that’s been in place for a year.
I met one of my favourite authors last week. Stella Duffy! She was talking at The Sydney Writers Festival and I went along. She’s such an inspiration AND she’s lovely. She might think I’m a bit strange, actually, cos I got a bit star struck and just grinned at her.
Right, I’ll be off, to write more of the novel. But, before I go, must share some sad news: Angel, my gorgeous fish, has gone on to the big fish tank in the sky. I was distraught when he died as was Oprah. She was looking very poorly for a while and I thought I’d lose her before I left too but she hung on in there and is being looked after by my lovely friend Tanya. The last update was she’s back on her food and is swimming around. So, at least she lives on.
Hope you’re all doing well and that you’re following your dreams as well.
Lots of love
