Dear Dorothy,
I absolutely adore your books. I’ve read three, Marshmallows for Breakfast, My Best Friend’s Girl and The Woman He Loved Before. I adore Summer and Jaxon, they are my favourite characters in all three books. I love how you touch on romance, friendship, heartache and the way people interact with children. I love how you write about black women like Kendie and Kamryn, and how different people respond to them being with white children, like the woman in the supermarket in My Best Friends Girl. I want to be an author one day, it’s my dream. You’ve inspired me more than I ever thought I would be. Thank you for that and your amazing books, can’t wait to read the rest and Before The Rose Petal Beach when it comes out. With a thousand thank you’s,

I’d just like to say thank you for writing such brilliant stories. My daughter introduced me to your books and I’m so glad she did, we both love reading your stories. At the moment I’m reading ‘Cupid Effect’ and have just bought ‘Goodnight Sweetheart’. I’m well hooked, I just can’t put your books down once I’ve started, they’re addictive.
Hi Dorothy! Just wanted to say I bought ‘The rose petal beach’ and read it in three days! I couldn’t put it down and it didn’t dissapoint. It was brilliant, with lots of twists and interesting characters. I’ve read all your books and they are all fantastic in their own way. They all take pride of place on my book shelf. The first book I ever read by you was ‘Marshmallows for Breakfast’. I remember it so well because I was so shocked when it was revealed that the main protagonist was a strong, black woman. So shocked that I had to return to the beginning of the story and start again!
It was so refreshing that this story was about a woman who happened to be black. Being black myself I find your books a breath of fresh air – they’re not about race and neither are your characters stereotypical yet the heroine can be black. Shes like me and my cousins and my friends and guess what, they love your books too! There aren’t any authors out there like you – thank you!
I’ve read all you books now except for the Choc Run. I’ve just downloaded the Woman He Loved Before and after that I’ll try Rose Petal Beach – thank you for writing books about people like me.
