One innocent mistake changed their lives for ever

The Ice Cream Girls

The blurb says . . .

As teenagers, Poppy Carlisle and Serena Gorringe were the only witnesses to a tragic event. Amid heated public debate, the two seemingly glamorous teens were dubbed 'The Ice Cream Girls' by the press and were dealt with by the courts. Years later, having led very different lives, Poppy is keen to set the record straight about what really happened, while Serena wants no one in her present to find out about her past. But some secrets will not stay buried - and if theirs is revealed, everything will become a living hell all over again . . . Gripping, thought-provoking and heart-warming, The Ice Cream Girls will make you wonder if you can ever truly know the people you love.

The blurb means . . .

The Ice Cream Girls is my first novel to be published hardback and quite fittingly writing it pushed me hard. There are such extremes of emotion explored in the book, that I felt myself constantly feeling conflicting things. Sometimes I was excited, other times I was scared, but all the way through I enjoyed telling this story. As with all my books, I loved telling the story of Poppy and Serena and writing my very first whodunit. I really hope you enjoy reading it.

The Ice Cream Girls was the first of my books to be turned into a TV drama. Although, it should probably said that the final drama was more ‘loosely based’ on my book than a straight adaptation. (The characters have different personalities and family situations, and there’s a different killer and ending.)

Here’s a piece I wrote about my thoughts on the TV version of The Ice Cream Girls, in case you were wondering . . .
